Best Places to See Cherry Blossoms in Seoul 2020

Yeouido Park


The most famous place in Seoul to enjoy cherry blossoms is definitely in Yeouido Park. The park is located on Yeouido island, which is usually known as being a financial and business hub in Seoul. However, the island has great outdoor areas that have an abundance of cherry blossom trees that bloom beautifully in Spring. When you visit the area, we recommend you to bring some blankets and snacks, so you can enjoy a nice spring picnic by the river.

Seokchon Lake


Seokchon Lake is located in the Jamsil next to the theme park Lotte World. When spring comes around and the cherry blossoms bloom, the lake is a perfect place to take a stroll and enjoy the sunny weather. Another unique feature of the river is that the Lotte World castle is situated on the lake which gives the lake an almost Disneyland feeling. Seokchon Lake is a really popular date spot in spring so you can expect there to be quite a lot of couples.

Changdeokgung Palace

Changdeokgung Palace is a beautiful traditional palace built by King Taejong in 1405 during the Joseon dynasty. It is located on the east side of Gyeongbok Palace and situated within a park in the Jongno-gu district in Seoul. The palace itself is designated Unesco World Heritage Site and is one of the best-preserved palaces in Seoul, a city where most of the traditional buildings have been reconstructed after WW2 and the Korean War. In Spring, the park surrounding the palace is filled with light pink cherry blossoms, creating the perfect setting to take some Spring vacation pics.

Seoul Grand Park

Seoul Grand Park is one of the largest parks in Seoul. It is located in the Southern part of Seoul in a city called Gwacheon. There are many different things to experience in the park such as a zoo, botanical garden, camping site, theme park, and hiking trails. Here, you can spend a lot of time exploring the different facilities and it is a perfect place to bring kids or go for a picnic. In the Springtime the park also transforms into a beautiful blanket of pink and white cherry blossom flowers. Compared to the other places on our list, the park is really large and will not be overcrowded during the peak cherry blossom season. Bring a snack, blanket, and book and enjoy a nice afternoon at the Seoul Grand Park.

Namsan Park

Namsan Mountain is located centrally in Seoul on the northern side of the Han River. The Seoul N Tower, also known as Namsan Tower, is located at the peak of the mountain and the Namsan park surrounds the tower. Namsan mountain has many hiking trails that lead to the tower and in spring these trails are enveloped by delicate cherry blossoms that you can enjoy on your ascent up the mountain.
